The third service, as now, will run between Falkirk Grahamston and Glasgow Queen Street High level.
Meanwhile from the same date, users of the Cumbernauld-Motherwell route peak time services will continue on to Glasgow, via Hamilton Central. There will also be five early morning Motherwell to Cumbernauld services compared to the present three. Cumbernauld and Kilsyth MSP Jamie Hepburn said: “I very much welcome the increased frequency of service that First ScotRail will run from both Cumbernauld and Greenfaulds stations.
“Particularly welcome is the increased range of direct destinations that are being opened up by the line being electrified.”
