The winners in the Holy Cross Primary Scottish poetry competition

The winners in the Holy Cross Primary Scottish poetry competition

THESE budding bards at Holy Cross Primary did Rabbie Burns proud during their Scottish poetry competition.

The annual contest sees each class learn about a defining point in Scotland’s history and educate their peers about it.

They then had to recite a Scottish poem, with the best pupils chosen to perform the ode at assembly in front of the whole school.

Head teacher, William McCreadie said: “The standard improves each year and this time was no different.

“They all did very well.”
