CHRISTMAS arrived in Kilsyth at the weekend as the community came together to celebrate the festive season.

The lights were officially switched on in Kilsyth on Friday with a programme of entertainment leading up to the big event.

Real Radio’s Ewen Cameron and STV’s Josie Smith hosted the event as Bags of Rock, BLOK and community choir Soundsational entertained the crowds.

Friends of Burngreen also arranged for music to continue at the Burngreen Bandstand.

Meanwhile, Kilsyth’s Burns and Old Parish Church held its annual Christmas fayre on Saturday.

The committee, who organised the fayre, were still counting the final amount raised as we went to press and would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event.

The pictures from the events are available to watch in our slideshow.

All pictures will be available to buy online.
