Silver jubilee for Kilsyth priest

THE silver jubilee of a popular parish priest was celebrated in Kilsyth recently.

A mass of thanksgiving was held for Father James Tracey of St Patrick’s Church on Friday, February 1, in honour of the special occasion.

Cardinal Keith Patrick O’Brien, Bishop Stephen Robson and 25 priests took part in the event before the celebrations continued in St Patrick’s Primary School where parishioner John Trower made a presentation on behalf of the parish.

He said that parishioners were pleased and proud to celebrate this milestone.

He also thanked Fr James for his work in the parish and in the community, assuring him of the love and respect in which he is held.
