Despite being pricey I have always shopped here to get something different. However, my past few experiences of the male owner's attitude towards customers has appalled me to the core. He yelled at my one year old son yesterday and I was flabbergasted to the point I bought my items and left. When I assessed the situation afterwards I was so angry at myself for not saying something. My son lifted a lid from one of the candles but don't think it was the owners place to yell at him. I would rather he yelled at me. He is one!!!!! I would quite happily of paid for any damage (but there was none). I will not be returning. Shame - the women is really helpful. Bad attitude to regular customers will drive people away. My family and friends won't be returning either.

Quite simply a great place to shop = loads of really lovely presents and offering a wide range of gifts for all tastes and all ages. You can easily do all of your gift shopping in the place. The lovely lady who tends the gift area is always willing to help with suggestions of what matches. The prices are very good and a particular favourite of mine is the wide range of cards at great prices, I have never seen such a range in other places. The owners clearly take great pride in chosing what to sell and I have even found gifts from Cumbernauld in the shop = for example, they have candles which are made in the town. Check out the prices for the gift bags - unbelievable and such a fantastic range. The coffee shop must be the cheapest in the town and the food is so fresh and such generous fillings. Their cakes are great and there are loads of flavours of ice cream to choose from and again prices are very low. The coffee is great and the staff really make you feel welcome. There is no comparison between this place and the larger chain stores who just do not and cannot compete with this overall fantastic shopping experience. Be proud Cumbernauld, very proud.

Absolutely fantastic! A fabulous shop filled with modern gifts and the most beautiful cards. There are gifts for everyone and the card range is the best range that I have ever found in any shop. This is Glasgow West End comes to Cumbernauld and then some! It's so wonderful to have such a lovely shop in Cumbernauld as the other shops are very cheap and nasty in general.
At the back of the gift shop is a coffee shop / ice cream parlour and this is such a perfect partner for all the lovely gifts and cards. The coffee is real quality and everything is very reasonably priced. The ice cream is yummy too and the staff are always so charming and helpful, especially the tall, dark haired handsome fellow!
Marshmallow is simply wonderful.

This shop is an absolute disgrace - as said in previous reviews ,very nice and pleasent until you attempt to return an item! Yes i had lost my reciept - but the shop barcode was on the item - and i wanted to swap it - wasnt asking for money back.
As for attempting to phone the shop - dont bother - they never answer - and after talking to town centre management,this is a well documented complaint.
Such a shame as i love the products they sell - but wouldnt give the money ever again!

Marshmallow is my all time favourite shop and is a much needed bonus to have this shop in Cumbernauld!!! I am very choosy about buying gifts for other people and before marshmallow opened up i always shopped in either Glasgow or Stirling. I got all my Christmas shopping in marshmallow and everyone loved their pressies. If you are looking for something a bit special this is the place to buy. Also the selection and quality of cards is outstanding!!!! Have always had a very pleasant experience shopping in marshmallow and find the staff extremely helpful!! The owners of this wee special shop should be extremely proud of themselves!!!! My whole family and i love it!!!!!!

Helpful, can do attitude, just as you’d expect from a place like Marshmallow – and want. I am a repeat customer, for coffee especially, but have been known to buy from the shop too when the need arises.
Businesses like these should be encouraged to open in Cumbernauld but with pointless negative on-line ‘feedback’ posted on sites such as this is it any wonder that owners bother. If you have a problem with my 5 star review, tough. If you have a problem with Marshmallow then confront the owners directly rather than hide in the Internet. The truth hurts as they say!

I love this shop! Definately nice to have a shop that sells something a little different, not always easy getting into town to pick up cards and gifts.
The ice cream parlour is a nice addition to the quirky shop. I love the apple crumble flavour best!

I would not recommend this place to anyone…..my daughter and her friend were asked if they were looking or buying, if they were not buying could they leave the shop!!!! My daughter came home upset by the owner’s attitude towards her….so please beware. Marshmallow’s attitude and professionalism towards the consumer leaves a lot to be desired!! PS I had to leave 1 star as my rating (as it would not let me leave it blank) but to be honest it does not deserve any.

Myself and my friend are very reasonable people and have never experienced anything like the treatment we received from the owners of Marshmallow, it was absolutely appalling. Please be very wary and careful if you have to return a product as you are definately not treated with respect or courtesy and whatever you do please take a witness with you if you are having any discussions with them with regards to returning a product.
