STUDENTS at Cumbernauld College are offering up-to-date treatments at their hair and beauty salon Fusion.

The stylish salon, run by the college’s hair and beauty students and staff, is now open for business offering treatments at affordable prices.

Customers are able to choose from a wide selection of pampering including hair removal, massages and hand and nail treatments as well as more advanced techniques including skin treatments such as Microdermabrasion, non-surgical facelifting and Galvanic, spray tans and party lashes.

There is also a full list of hairdressing services, including blow dries, colour and perms. The salon uses popular hair products by Schwarzkopf Professional and award winning skin care brand Dermalogica.

Angela McAfee, depute head of faculty for service industries, said: “Fusion has always been popular with external clients and our students are always looking to gain as much practice in a professional salon environment as possible.

“Being able to offer a ‘real life’ situation to students is of great benefit for their training and the feedback has been really positive.

“Most of the students will work in the beauty industry once their course has finished and this gives them a great starting point for their future careers.”

The beauty salon is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. The hairdressing salon is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All treatments carried out by the students are supervised by course lecturers.
