St Aloysius’ College pupils from Cumbernauld were the stars of the show at the Hydro Arena on Saturday night...
as they took to the stage to perform alongside the world famous Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli, at his sold-out show at Glasgow’s largest music venue.
Cumbernauld lads Luke and Ciaran McChord, who are members of the junior choir at the Glasgow school, joined Bocelli on stage.
The junior choir were in front of 12,500 fans to offer perfect backing harmonies in the second half of the classical singer’s triumphant show.
The young St Aloysius’ College pupils received some of the loudest applauses of the night from the Glasgow crowd for their inspiring performances during Mamma and Time to Say Goodbye, arguably Bocelli’s most famous and well-loved song.
Dr Brady, the head of St Aloysius’ College Junior School, was thrilled with how the talented young singers handled the occasion.
He said: “The children were so wonderful at the concert. Words cannot describe how proud I was of all of them as they sang so confidently only inches away from Andrea himself and in front of all his fans.”
The St Aloysius’ pupils had a fantastic day and will have many happy memories from their time performing with
the world’s most popular classical artist. The Italian tenor took time to meet with all the children for a photo and couldn’t hide his delight when the time came to say good-bye the young St Aloysius’ pupils all waved and called goodbye melodic unison.
