The poor weather will not deter Cumbernauld Theatre from launching its summer season this weekend, with two very different productions on offer.

On Friday there is a collaboration with the Stand comedy club as Joe Heenan is joined by four top Scottish stand-ups for a comedy showcase.

Mikey Adams, Julia Sutherland, Chris Forbes and Gary Little are sure to have the audience in stitches.

Last year’s showcase proved very popular and tickets are selling fast for the 2012 edition, so grab your tickets from the box office without delay.

On Saturday, unconventional dance group Company Chameleon will bring their latest touring show, Kith/Kin, to the local stage. Lauded by critics on its London opening, the production, featuring Kevin Turner and Anthony Missen, explores the themes of masculinity and male identity.
