Lanark man Leith plans Curryoake night for charity

A WELL-KENT Lanark man who nearly lost his life to heart disease and has since become a champion of efforts to fight the condition is to, once again, ‘curry favour’ with potental supporters.

Former local government officer and now taxi driver Leith Mulvaney has been raising money for the British Heart Foundation since his life-saving by-pass operation in 2008.

He has since raised over £6000 through two very different annual events, SO different some might see them as totally contradictory, one involving lots of exercise - and the other lots of eating!

The first held each year is a sponsored walk around Lanark Loch, and this annual event for the Heart Foundation was soon joined by another Foundation fundraiser which fast also became a new Lanark tradition - Leith’s Curryoake Night.

This year’s Curryoake Night takes place on February 27 at the Wee Man’s Castle Bar, where tickets can now be bought for £4 per head. Tickets are also available by phoning Leith on 0777-862-8382.
