DO some good in the New Year - give blood.

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service invites the people in Cumbernauld to meet its mobile blood donation team at any of three locations in January.

They will be at the New Town Hall, Bron Way, on Wednesday and Thursday, January 4 and 5, from 4pm until 7.30pm. Also, the donation bus will be in the car park at Asda Cumbernauld on Thursday, January 5 from 9.30am-11.30am and 1pm-3.30pm. The third visit will be to Abronhill Parish Church in Larch Road the following week, on Thursday, January 12 from 4pm until 7.30pm.

Only five per cent of eligible donors in Scotland give blood, and the Service needs 1,000 donations every day. There is a constant need for more volunteers to ensure our hospitals are well supplied with blood and blood products.
