A SPECIAL phone number has been issued for locals to complain about noise stemming from the A80 roadworks.
Last month we revealed that MSP Cathie Craigie had received complaints from bleary-eyed residents whose homes border the roadside about work ongoing until 4am. They had been assured that work would cease by midnight.

The bulk of complaints stemmed from Condorrat and Westfield.
Mrs Craigie has since met with Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson - and it would now appear that the complaints will be addressed.

"I have had a constructive meeting with the Transport Minister, where the concerns of my constituents, and my personal concerns, were aired," she said.

"He has ensured me that the contractors have a night manager on site, who is responsible for ensuring the noise is kept down. This individual also has the authority to stop the work.

"Now the public can get in touch with the night manager should there be any complaints."

The number is 07887 533683.
