THE Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is urging News readers to resolve to become regular blood donors in 2009.
Their mobile donating team will be making one of its regular visits to the town in the New Year.

The venue is Cumbernauld New Town Hall, Bron Way on Sunday, January 4, from noon till 3.30 p.m.; and also on Wednesday, January 7, from 4 till 7.30 p.m.

A spokesman said: "Only five per cent of the eligible population currently give blood. We need more new volunteers to ensure that we continue to meet hospital requirement for blood and blood products. Every day we need to welcome 1000 volunteer blood donors in Scotland."
