DEVASTATED parents will have less than six weeks to find a new nursery for their children after they were told this week the facility was closing.

The Honeypot Nursery staff and children were given the shock news on Friday, May 17, which came from the board who operate the Moodiesburn facility - The Spark Initiative.

Several children from the Cumbernauld area attend the nursery, and now their parents have the tough task of finding a new pre-school.

Denise Cardigan, who lives in Blackwood, son Lee (3) attends the nursery.

She said: “My son has been at the nursery since he was two-years-old.

“It is quite a shock. The staff will lose their jobs and we will have to search for another nursery.

“I am also worried about the long-term effect on my child and the area.

“There is so many new builds in Moodiesburn and only a couple of nurseries, where will all the kids go?.” For more on this story, see this week’s Cumbernauld News or Kilsyth Chronicle dated Wednesday, May 22.
