POLICE are treating an incident in Abronhill as attempted murder after a 24-year-old male was glassed and taken to hospital.

The incident occurred at 12 noon on Saturday, in Hornbeam Road and police are hunting a male suspect in relation to the incident.

The 24-year-old was left with serious head and facial injuries and police were on the scene after the incident.

A spokesperson at Cumbernauld police station said: “At 12 in the afternoon on Saturday, March 10, a 24-year-old male was struck in the face with a glass tumbler and suffered severe face and head injuries.

“There had been people within the address and a disturbance has taken place and as a result this male has been glassed.

“Police are looking for a man and are following a positive line of inquiry.”
