CONFORRAT may not have its own station – but thanks to community spirited youngsters it now boasts its own train!
The dinky vintage style number was created from recycled materials in conjunction with Condorrat Tenants and Residents’ Association – who decided that they wanted to make this historical part of Cumbernauld even better.
And they are succeeding too as their efforts have landed the area three Beautiful Scotland Awards in as many years.
Locals hope to win another award when the judges arrive on August 8 – and are glad that youngsters are on board.
CTRA chairwoman Kate McLean said: “These children who made the train are a breath of fresh air. We also want to show them that you can re-use these mterials for the good of the community.”
