a BUS which travels around the country to promote Christianity is coming to Kilsyth.

The Challenger 4 bus will be in the town from Monday to Saturday, October 22 to 27, after receiving an invitation from The Storehouse Church.

The bus will also visit schools with presentations on the lives of Olympic gold medallist Eric Liddell; Jane Haining – Scotland’s Schindler; and John Harper, who died on The Titanic – 100 years ago last April.

In conjunction with the visit, a kid’s club is being organised for primary age children with the title “Finders of The Hidden Truth”.

These activities will take place on the Challenger bus beside Kilsyth Academy, from 6pm to 7.30pm on the evenings of Tuesday to Friday, October 23 to 26.

The programme includes songs, Bible stories and crafts.

Children will also enjoy an afternoon of fun under the banner of “The Quest for the Golden Stone”, at Balmalloch Primary School from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, October 27.

Teenagers are invited to enjoy live music, free pizza and DVDs on board the bus at Kilsyth Academy from 7.30pm to 9pm on Tuesday to Friday, October 23 to 26.

Capping the visit, from 7pm to 8.30pm on Saturday, October 27, The Upper Room Gospel Choir and Burning Issues Drama Group from Perth together with guest soloists (some from Korea) will feature in an award ceremony and gospel music night at Balmalloch Primary School.

Members of The Storehouse Church will also be providing light snacks for the community and the event is open to all whether they attend church or not.

Rev Jim Martin, minister of The Storehouse Church in Kilsyth, said: “We are looking forward to the visit of the bus team. “This bus is amazing and my hope and prayer is that a great many local people will come along and join in the range of activities and find out more about the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with something for all the family.”

Admission is free to all events and further information is available from the Rev Jim Martin on 07718 924204 or Corina Gardiner on 07906 831214.
