A leading London Hospital is looking to recruit Midwives from Scotland to fill a variety of vacancies within their trust.

The management team from Croydon Health Services will be looking to meet with Midwives who think they may want to work very near the capital at two days of interviews scheduled in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow on 3rd February and Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh on 4th February.

They’re offering starting salaries from £29,292 as well as help for new recruits to find accommodation.

Jim Bell is the marketing officer for Skills4Nurses, the organisation helping to co-ordinate the interviews. Jim has commented on the diverse situation between Midwifery vacancies in Scotland compared to this area. He is hoping that local Midwives will see this as an opportunity to utilise their skills and training by relocating to this vibrant unit.

Croydon University Hospital is part of Croydon Health Services and employs 3,500 staff providing services for a diverse population of more than 340, 000 people.

Deborah Caffull, Clinical Midwifery Manager for inpatient services and Sue Stock, Deputy Head of Midwifery said: ”We are very much looking forward to meeting with both experienced and newly qualified midwives who would like to see what we can offer in the way of opportunities when we come to Scotland in February.

There are many opportunities to develop both personally and professionally; we are affiliated to Kingston University and opportunities for further study are encouraged.

The unit boasts a Birthing centre that is the busiest in London with 21% of our clientele delivering in this environment. We have a caseloading team who support homebirth. Many specialist roles support our service such as Midwifery Leads for VBAC, Child Protection, Breast Feeding, Bereavement etc.

Our normal delivery rate is outstanding and demonstrative of our teams commitment to normality”

New to the trust is midwife Beth Sanguine who has joined the caseloading team. Beth states “I have found the orientation programme varied and impeccably organised. The staff have all been very welcoming and supportive. I am so looking forward to working in the caseloading team which I feel is visionary within the NHS”
