CONGRATULATIONS to Carbrain couple Carol and Alex Foster, who last week marked their golden wedding anniversary.
Alex (71) and Carol (70), met at Jean’s Cafe in Glasgow’s Partick area when they were still in their teens - it was a case of “love at first sight”.
The couple, who live in Greenrigg Road, were married on October 24 ,1964, and moved to Cumbernauld in May 1969.
Alex worked as a shift supervisor for Isola in Cumbernauld until retiring in 2000 while Carol will be well known to many readers as she was a former office secretary at Our Lady’s High School until she retired in 2003.
Carol and Alex have three children - Karen, John and Julie, and five grandsons - Grant, Adam, Josh, Jack and Cameron.
Carol and Alex love to travel, and have been on holidays and cruises all around the world.
They attribute their enduring love and success of their marriage to the fact they are always busy thanks to a large number of friends and busy social life, as well as having their family around them.
Many of those friends and family joined Carol and Alex in marking the anniversary with a party at the Burroughs Club.
