PICTURED are the children of Condorrat Primary School who excelled in competitions held by Cumbernauld Burns Club recently.

Pupils from local primary schools took part in the contest, performing songs and poetry by Robert Burns, as well as creating original artworks inspired by the work of Scotland’s national bard.

Condorrat Primary had a superb showing in the contest, winning about half of the total prizes. For the full list of prizewinners, see next week’s edition of the News and Chronicle.

Isobel Fairbairn, depute head teacher at Condorrat Primary School, said: “I’m proud of our pupils winning so many of the prizes, we usually set a high standard.”
