KILSYTH Community Council held its annual general meeting last Wednesday night in Burngreen Hall.
An agreement was made that all office bearers, except the secretary, would continue in their positions for the new term.
This, however, is under the condition that John Smithston, project co-ordinator, agrees at a future meeting to continue in his post as he was not present.
Current secretary, Ann Drysdale, stated her wish for someone else to fill the role as she was originally supposed to be doing so on a temporary basis.
Chairman, Scott Johnson, delivered his annual report, in which he praised the progress made by the group.
He said: “I want to carry on the same theme as last year. We’ve moved down the line, primarily with the regeneration of the Main Street. I think we’ve made some positive steps forward in the town.
“There are some phases of the construction process coming to an end.
“But the housing developments will probably take us the next two or three years.
“The way things are looking we will need to deal with a significant area of land under construction for a while.”
