Police are making the public aware of a rise in early evening sneak thefts, chiefly from homes in Abronhill.
One recent example saw thieves gain access to a home in Hazel Road at 7.50pm on Wednesday, March 1
Police were called and a suspect was seen running off.
The area has also been subject to a number of car and works van thefts of late.
Inspector Phil Rose said: “I would ask that all residents lock their front or rear doors and do not leave keys and handbags near the front door.
“There have been a number of occasions when the perpetrator has just opened the insecure door and lifted these items .If you see anyone acting suspiciously in your area, please call 101.
