Police have confirmed that Next in the Antonine Centre was robbed of a three figure sum yesterday afternoon (Thursday)

The incident took place in the popular store at 3.15pm when a hooded man with a scarf covering his face entered the premises.

Although this made him difficult to identify, officers say that his black hooded top had distinctive red stripes on the sleeve.

Details about the theft itself have not been released by the police but officers have stressed that the man left the store via its front entrance that faces the busy Tesco car park.

Police hope that shoppers may be able to provide them with more information on the robbery.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact 101.
