Overnight break-in on Cumbernauld street

A Cumbernauld neighbourhood has been targeted by thieves after a van and a garden shed were broken into overnight

Police say that the thieves came across an unlocked Renault van in Halidon Avenue with its keys still in the ignition at some point between 9.30pm on Tuesday and 8.30pm today. (Wednesday, March 22)

Enquiries are ongoing as to the items taken from the van.

And a garden shed was also broken into nearby.

A police spokesman said: “We are asking people to make sure that vehicles are locked and secure overnight.”

No descriptions have been issued but police are now looking for witnesses
