Police searching for missing pensioner Thomas Lamb have been investigating possible sightings in the Partick area of Glasgow.

Chief Inspector David Bruce, the police commander in the Cumbernauld area, gave the News and Chronicle an update on the search.

He said: “The family received information about potential sightings in the Dumbarton Road area of Partick. Enquiries were conducted there last night and follow up is taking place today. At present the main focus remains Abronhill.”

Mr Lamb is 79 years old and recently widowed. He did not have his heart medication with him when he vanished. He was last seen in Abronhill at around 6.30pm on Saturday, and since then there have been ongoing searches involving emergency services personnel and scores of local volunteers.
