Details have now emerged of a daring theft from an industrial estate which saw thieves escape with £25,000 worth of specialist equipment.
Police have confirmed that heavy duty goods were taken from Cumbernauld Tool Plant Hire in Lenziemill at some point between 6pm on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday.
We can reveal that the long list of items taken includes eight yellow and red compaction plates, two compressor washers, two black Honda generators and four hydraulic breakers bearing the McDonald and JCB brands.
In addition, two orange cement mixers were taken in the raid.
Police have revealed that another Lenziemill business was targeted in the same timeframe.
This was Elite Printing Services Scotland.
Forced entry was attempted on the premises but thieves failed to gain access.
This is the latest of a series of break-ins in the Lenziemill area.
Last week we revealed how £250,000 worth of brandy was taken from a nearby depot.
Now police want to talk to anyone who may be able to shed some light on these incidents, which are likely to have involved criminal gangs.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact police on 101.
