SCOTLAND’S final digital switchover got under way last week as analogue signals were turned off at the Black Hill transmitter.
The digital signal was boosted at the transmitter, which services roughly 50 per cent of Scottish TVs, to reach the areas undergoing the change, with Cumbernauld and Kilsyth included in the list of towns set to receive a whole host of new channels through the swap-over.
The change requires every Freeview viewer to retune their TVs and boxes in order to regain TV channels. The process will be completed on June 22, when the remaining analogue channels will be switched off.
The Switchover Help Scheme is still welcoming applications from eligible older and disabled people to get help to convert one television, including a choice of equipment, contact 0800 40 85 900. For further information or call 08456 505050.
