ABRONHILL’S Thor Tate recently did a bungee jump in support of a local charity.

Thor (34), a lecturer at Cumbernauld College, was given a bungee jump as a birthday present from his wife and decided to seek sponsorship on behalf of the Cumbernauld branch of the MS Society, which is based in Condorrat and provides many services and activities for people with MS.

Thor raised £712, which he described as “not bad for two seconds of sheer terror.” He added: “The princely sum is a testimony to the generosity of the students and staff at Cumbernauld College and my friends, family and neighbours! The local branch of the MS Society was a natural choice as my mother went to the same branch”

Allan Shafar, secretary of the local MS society branch, added: “With his fearless endeavours Thor has helped fund our continuing efforts to provide a social, educational and therapeutic environment together with encouraging ongoing research.”
