Cumbernauld will have a free pop up cinema for one day only in the former Denim Depot premises on Saturday, October 28.

This will feature a selection of archive footage of Cumbernauld New Town, hand picked by Shona Thomson from the North Lanarkshire Council archives and the National Library of Scotland.

Films will be shown from 2.30pm and the showings will be followed by refreshements and a discussion about how the films were made.

One of the film’s directors Robin Cricton will appear as will Culture NL archivist Wiebke McGhee.

Entry is free but ticketed.

Anyone wishing to attend should book a place at Cumbernauld Library.

The same venue for the showing was used earlier this year for a screening of ‘I. Daniel Blake.’
