RADIOLOGY services in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth could soon be scrapped permanently, following a review by NHS Lanarkshire.

Film-based X-ray machines at Central Health Centre in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Health Centre have been mothballed since November 2010.

A recently-published review recommends permanently removing these services and instead carrying out all X-rays at Monklands Hospital.

But local politicians and campaigners fighting to save the services have reacted angrily to the news.
