High-rise survey row

A PUBLIC consultation on the fate of 12 high rise blocks in Cumbernauld is a sham - and is slanted towards the interests of a housing agency, it is alleged.

That is the claim by members of the Registered Factored Owners Association who believe that a survey being conducted by market reseach firm Research Resource on behalf of Sanctuary will lead to the flats being demolished.

Sanctuary has vigorously refuted the claims and stressed the firm is completely independent - but RFOA chairman Derek Condon disagrees.

We also understand the survey has drawn a response from 75 per cent of residents and Mr Condon believes Sanctuary will use this to their own ends. Again the housing agency has denied this.
