Liz’s single-minded
Liz Gilogley (52), of Moodiesburn, founded the Single Ladies Club a couple of years ago as a support network for ladies who find themselves on their own after many years.
She said: “Really it came about because in this day and age everybody is doing the social networking thing; my daughters are always on Facebook, Bebo and Twitter. I wondered if I could do something that was social networking for women who were where I was – in late 40s, came out of a long partnership or marriage and found themselves at a halfway stage. There are eight million women on their own over the age of 40 in Britain. I felt they needed a network.”
Liz set up the organisation and created a forum-based website for them to chat and arrange meet ups. The club now has 60 members.
