A disgrace: but town centre cash is on the way

THE MAN who oversees the future of Cumbernauld’s town centre has admitted that parts of it are a ‘‘disgrace’’ but has pledged a £1 million sum to improve it over the next five years.

At last week’s meeting of Condorrat Community Council, Councillor Allan Graham who chairs Campsies Centres Cumbernauld Ltd stated that improvements are on the way.

The private company which is owned by North Lanarkshire Council has been accused of sitting on its hands where the decades-old centre is concerned, amidst claims that nothing has been done to improve its look.
