ASDA Cumbernauld is driving their new Community Life programme, which aims to invest more in the local community.

As a company ASDA have always carried out charity events for more national causes, but now they want to give back to the communities directly.

Lynn Deakin, the Community Champion for the Cumbernauld store said: “It’s all about getting ASDA into the community of which we serve.

“For our projects we used four pillars which are: working, community, greener living and healthier living. We try to apply them to everything that we help with.”

“We will now move our focus to fund raising for local groups, we will still raise money for national cause too, but this is about making the community which we are a part of a better place to live and work.”

The Community Life programme was launched on March 26 and has been applied to every ASDA store. For more information see this week’s edition of the News and Chronicle, out now.
