Bright sparks keep it official at Broadwood Loch display

FIRE crews are gearing up for their biggest night of the year next Monday, November 5, when Guy Fawkes celebrations get underway.

Firefighters are reinforcing the message that the official displays are the safest option.

Crew commander John Ross said: “These observe health and safety issues, have experienced medical personnel and proper cordons to keep people back.

“These displays also stop people from storing fireworks in their own homes – they forget that these could easily burn their house down if they were set off by accident,” he added.

This year’s council-run event takes place at Broadwood Loch on Sunday November 4 at 7.30pm, parking at St Maurice’s High School.
