Emma, Daniel, Rickki, Logan and Erin brush up on their Burns

SCOTLAND celebrated the birth of the country’s national Bard, Robert Burns, this week.

All across the country, and indeed the globe, Burns Suppers are held around this time to mark Rabbie’s memory, with the centrepiece of course being that “great chieftain o’ the puddin’ race”. the haggis.

Closer to home, these youngsters at Happitots day nursery in Cumbernauld were happy to sport some tartan courtesy of Supporting Children Scotland, and catch up on their reading about the great man thanks to the town’s library.

For more photographs of local Burns celebrations, see next week’s Cumbernauld News.
