Calendar girls raise money for Cancer Research

TWO cheeky calendars have been created in memory of a Kilsyth woman who sadly died from cancer before she was due to get married.

Clare Beattie passed away suddenly at just 30 years old back in February months before her June wedding.

Popular Clare was well-known in Kilsyth so family and friends decided they wanted to created a lasting legacy for people to remember her.

A Calendar Girls’ style project was therefore born to raise money for Cancer Research UK which is a charity that Clare supported and helps others dealing with same plight as she did.

Claire Beattie, who is married to Clare’s brother George, is one of the brains behind the project.

The 30-year-old, who lives in South Dunbreck Road in Kilsyth, said: “Clare was a massive personality. She was so bright and bubbly. Everybody who met her, remembered her, she was larger than life.

“I decided to do the calendars because I know it is something Clare would have loved.”

The calendars feature Kilsyth faces who are family and friends of Clare posing in a variety of fun images.
