Children can swim free this summer

BOTH Kilsyth Swimming Pool AND Cumbernauld's Tryst Centre will be offering free aquatic fun to under 16s over the summer holidays.

Young swimmers will once again be able to use the pool for free between 10am and 4pm right up until Friday, August 14.

In fact, the promotion is so popular that EXTRA STAFF have been drafted in to meet the demand!

Councillor Jim Logue said: "North Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Leisure are committed to encouraging youngsters to become more fit and active and swimming is a great form of exercise.

"The free swim scheme gives kids the chance to have fun in a fantastic friendly environ-ment."

However some restrictions DO apply with the free swims for safety's sake and parents/carers should note the following admission require-ments

• Children aged 4-7 years must be accompanied into the water by a responsible adult with no more than two children per adult

• Under fours must be accompanied by an adult on a one to one basis

• Children eight and over are free to enter without supervision restriction

The free swims also apply to every other pool within NLC boundaries, including The Time Capsule in Coatbridge. However, free swims do not

apply at this facility on public holidays.
