Cumbernauld boy’s puppy love
Zak Mason (9) from Cumbernauld has raised 70 for Canine Partners, a charity that provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, by taking part in the Cumbernauld 1K.
A KIND young animal lover who was one of the younger participants in the mini Cumbernauld 10K last month has harnessed puppy power to help others.
By running the Ik section of the race, Zak Mason (9) raised £70 for Canine Partners, a charity that provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.
The St Lucy’s Primary pupil chose that charity as his his mother Carol is a volunteer puppy parent currently looking after eight-month old Jamie whilst he is being trained by the East Scotland puppy satellite in Stirling.
Zak said: “I felt very nervous on the day but I am really pleased I completed the challenge and raised some money so Canine Partners can train more dogs. I’d like to say thank-you to my family and friends who sponsored me.
