Cumbernauld police probe spate of break-ins and car thefts
POLICE are investigating a spate of break-ins and car thefts in Cumbernauld.
A house in Kingshill Avenue was broken into between 8.30pm and midnight on August 30. Tools, golf clubs, a sliver laptop and jewellery were taken.
On the same night, a house in Springfield Road was also targeted, with a silver laptop and mobile phone taken.
Then, on September 3, between midnight and 5am, someone entered a property in Corbiston Way and took a black Acer laptop and mobile phones, as well as the keys to a green Volvo.
The car was later recovered after being set on fire in Telford Road.
Lastly, at 9.30pm on Sunday, September 5, items including golf clubs, a purse and car keys were taken from a house in Smithyends.
The thief then made off with the householder's green Landrover.
The car was later recovered in the Airdrie area minus the stolen property.
