CUMBERNAULD teenager Nicole Simpson is the girl everyone is talking about - after being seen by millions of viewers on the X Factor on Saturday night.

Nicole (16), pictured below, beat thousands of hopefuls after making it through to the boot camp phase of the competition, ending up in the final 61.

The Abronhill girl has already hit the headlines in this newspaper after winning our very own Cumbernauld’s Got Talent competition earlier this year.

Nicole had been in discussions with agents in the United States long before her X Factor debut and remains serious about pursuing a career in showbusiness.

The talented teen joined an eight-strong group to sing You Got The Love by Florence and The Machine.

Sadly she did not make it through to the final 32 - but Nicole is the pride of Cumbernauld regardless!

And now she has been signed by respected reality TV writer and talent finder Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard for his agency.

Dean is well known for spotting new talent and last year from a very early stage he advised that One Direction would go all the way to the 2010 X-Factor Final. He also predicted Leona Lewis’s huge success from an early stage

Dean said: “One of the hidden treasures for me came at boot camp from the voice of 16-year-old Nicole Simpson.

“We had never seen or heard from her before the show, but her voice, confidence and natural talent oozed out from the television. It is frustrating when we don’t get to hear more talent throughout the initial auditions. A big star in the making”

He added “X Factor’s loss is my gain, this girl will be a BIG star”
