Dicing with death on Cumbernauld’s busiest road

A SHORT cut could lead to a fatality on Cumbernauld’s busiest road – that is the warning being dished out by horrified onlookers who are seeing sights like this on a daily basis.

Specially reinforced fencing on the central reservation is failing to deter locals who are trying to scale the railings or slipping through gaps next to lamp posts – because they can’t be bothered to walk the safe way round.

They present a risk not only to themselves but drivers who could so easily find a human hazard in their path.

This week local taxi driver Alan Brown is among those who have said that the fencing should be both heightened and secured to minimise the risk.
