Drugs seized in Cumbernauld and Possilpark
POLICE report a major drugs seizure in Abronhill.
On Wednesday evening local police officers searched houses in Cherry Avenue and Gean Court, recovering diamorphine and cocaine worth approximately £90,000.
Two 26-year-old men and a woman of 24 have been arrested and are in police custody in connection with the recovery.
On the same day police in Possilpark seized a kilo of a substance believed to be heroin, valued at £70,000, after investigating a tipoff that two men were acting suspiciously near the canal at Applecross Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Pat Campbell said: “This recovery shows our ongoing commitment and determination to rid our communities of drugs and the misery they cause. Through effective intelligence gathering and the help and support from the public we continue to deal with this issue head on. If anyone has any information about drugs in their community I would ask them to please pass that information on to police and be assured that we take the appropriate action.”
