Duncarron Fort wins support

POLITICIANS visited a tourist attraction to see first hand improvements that have been over the year.

SNP MSP for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Jamie Hepburn, Councillor Alan Stevenson and Councillor Elizabeth Irvine, enjoyed a visit to Duncarron Medieval Fortified Village.

The visitors were treated to a guided tour of the fort by site manger Malin Heen-Allan, who also took the time to inform the group of the great work that has been going on at the site.

Mr Hepburn was particularly impressed with the addition of the long-house, which is currently under construction, and the plans that Malin has for the future of Duncarron.

He said: “On my previous visit to Duncarron I was very impressed by the work that has taken place there, following my most recent visit I can only say that I am further impressed by the dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers at the fort.

“I was very interested to hear about the big plans for Duncarron Fort in the coming months and years and I will ensure that were possible, I will offer my support.”
