Eyeing up success

MORE people will be able to benefit from the Lanarkshire Eye-health Network Service (LENS) which has been expanded to include two more opticians.

Boots Options in Teviot Walk, Cumbernauld and McLachlan Opticians, Main Street, Kilsyth are among 20 optometric practices who have recently joined the service.

There are now five practices which are part of LENS in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area.

LENS, which began in November 2010, offers patients an appointment for any concerns they may have regarding their eye health.

The service also deals with minor eye injuries and aims to make sure that eye patients see the most appropriate practitioner.

NHS Lanarkshire say patients are now being treated more quickly than ever before.
