Huge storm hits Cumbernauld and Kilsyth

A HUGE electrical storm has hit Cumbernauld and Kilsyth causing disruption.

Heavy surface water is lying on the M80, and many roads around the town centres are suffering from flood water.

The worst of the storm was early in the afternoon today (Friday, June 22) but rain is still falling.

There are also unconfirmed reports of homes being hit by lightning, but no reports so far of significant damage.
