Hunt is on for Cumbernauld brothers

Carbrain woman Bridie Dowds is acting on behalf of a Glasgow man who was a friend of her late husband – and who is experiencing serious health problems

Bridie wants to locate a Robert and William Russell who were last heard of living in Seafar and Cumbernauld Village.

She understands that Robert has left the town but that William lives in new housing next to Greenfaulds Station.

Bridie’s attempts to locate him there have however failed – and she has now turned to the News and Chronicle for help.

The two men are cousins of a Malcolm Murdoch who hails from Bridgeton and is now in a nursing home in the East End’s Edinburgh Road – where he needs a high level of care from staff.

Bridie from Craigieburn Road said: “Malcolm was like an uncle to our family. He worked all his life and shortly after he retired, he took three strokes.

“It’s a sad situation. He never married and has no other family so I would like to try and trace these men.’’

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bridie on 720345.
