Incident at club sparks police plea

POLICE have approached the News and Chronicle in the hope that clubbers may be able to help them with an ongoing investigation.

We understand that club-goers may hold the key to an incident last Saturday night (January 28) which happened in the vicinity of the Basement Nightclub in Cumbernauld town centre.

Detectives have refused to shed any light on the incident itself but have confirmed that they are seeking a male who was acting suspiciously on the footpath directly across from the building around 2am.

We hope to bring more information about this incident in next week’s News and Chronicle.

Meanwhile anyone with further information on the man acting suspiciously is urged to contact CID on 503900. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted free and in confidence on 0800 555 111.
