Kilsyth nursery fights for North Lanarkshire Council partnership
FIGHT: Patsy McLaren owner of Kidstore hopes to secure partnership.
A POPULAR private nursery has gained the support of the Kilsyth community in its fight with North Lanarkshire Council to win partnership status.
Kidstore in Burngreen Lodge has a petition with around 400 signatures supporting its bid as well as the backing of Kilsyth Community Council.
The nursery, which opened two years, has been unsuccessful since its launch in its efforts to gain the status which would mean all children over three would be entitled to a part-time place free of charge.
Owner Patsy McLaren says inspectors from the local authority who approve the partnership status have never even visited the nursery, and she believes she has been refused because of budget cuts.
