Near thing as truck skids off road

Tyre tracks show how near the truck came to Seafar's Kingfisher pub

TREACHEROUS road conditions saw a milk truck skid off the road and crash into trees near a local pub in Cumbernauld.

The drama happened early on Monday as plummeting temperatures wreaked havoc on local roads.

Now questions are being asked by residents and local MSPs about the effectiveness of North Lanarkshire Council’s road gritting.
