NO WATER

RESIDENTS in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth hit out at North Lanarkshire Council again this week after being left high and dry with no running water.

Last week the News and Chronicle reported that some homes in Kilsyth had been without running water for up to four weeks, but it now seems that the problem is wide spread, and the local authority, inundated with calls and requests, are struggling to cope with the demand.

Senga McGoldrick (31) from Kilsyth Road in Queenzieburn, has been without water since before Christmas and as of December 30 had still not received any bottled water from NLC.

To make matters worse, many in her street share the same unfortunate scenario after pipes underground appear to have either burst or frozen.

Senga also has two young boys, one of whom is currently suffering from an upset stomach and she is now very concerned about the health of her family.

Another resident in Cumbernauld spoke to the News and Chronicle to say he had been out of water for a similar period of time.

Stephen Burnett of Abronhill, who is at present suffering from broken ribs, was left with no water on Christmas Eve.
